Day 16: Ōtautahi (Christchurch)
Welcome
Yesterday we drove down the rugged Kaikoura coastline on the way to our show at James Hay Theatre.
I began my day with a steak and pepper pie that was left over after the Framingham show.
What a stunning day it was to be driving down the East coast of Te Waipounamu. We thoroughly enjoyed the newly reopened road and we stopped to make to the most of one of the brand new rest areas.
It was mid afternoon when we pulled into the loading dock of the James Hay theatre, part of the Christchurch town hall. We made short work of load-in and then enjoyed an efficient soundcheck in the beautifully refurbished theatre.
Pickle Darling opened the evening again with a delicately crafted set of tunes.
After the show we headed to the house of Callum’s parents Russell and Buffy Devlin who were generous enough to host us, not for the first time I might add.
Today’s profile is on a very special member of our touring party. It’s not about the duration of time you spend with your friends, it’s about the quality of time, and this individual only provides you with quality.
