Day 3: Mount Shasta
Welcome
Yesterday we woke up in the car park of a Best Western to a brilliant blue sky punctuated by the spectacular Mount Shasta.
The first order of the day was sorting breakfast which in this case ended up being a trip to the Subway just up the road. I enjoyed a roast turkey sub with lettuce, tomato, lettuce cucumber, red onion, banana pepper, jalapeños, and pepper jack cheese.
It was a rest-day so Tristan, Liz and I went for a hike on one of the Mount Shasta trails. We began with 45 minute walk through the town to get to the trailhead and then after a thorough examination of the map we decided to do a small loop that minimised the risks of trail wipeouts and bear attacks. It was a beautiful and very manageable trail that started off as loose dirt and transitioned gradually into about a foot of snow. The highlight of the walk was when we stopped for a snack break and I tore an apple in half with my bare hands.
Our evening was spent trying to fix the bus TV so we could watch a movie but sadly it was beyond our abilities and we gave up. The symptoms are an intermittent flashing screen when we try to connect a laptop through the HDMI connection. We are connecting through an Onkyo receiver and we are unable to access the ports at the back. Feel free to post your suggestions in the comments below.
My new segment for today is called Airpods Max Detected and it follows my journey as this invasive screen semi-regularly pops up on my phone. Today’s edition contains the multiple intercept points where the AirPods Max were detected as we drove the along i5 through the night on the way to Mount Shasta.
Today’s worgle is a tricky one. Good luck and don’t forget to post your answers in the comments!!!
UPDATE: I just found out that the TV was fixed right after I went to bed and the issue was the receiver overheating - solved by turning the aircon on. Thanks for bearing with us on this one.
