Day 3: Glasgow
Welcome
Yesterday we drove North to Glasgow, the second city of the Empire.
We’ve never had a chance to look around Leeds properly so Tristan and I started our day with a run along the canal and into the city centre. No city can operate without a market and a corn exchange so we checked for these buildings before heading back to the hotel.
The drive up-country was beautiful and with Tristan deploying his positive attitude behind the wheel we made good time, arriving even ahead of schedule. Our show was at St Luke’s, a church in Glasgow’s East End constructed in 1836 that was converted into a venue in 2015. The venue staff were brilliant and it made the day really fun and easy.
After soundcheck as we were enjoying the backstage facilities we were granted the pleasure of a visit from the local fire brigade when the venue kitchen set off the fire alarm.
Before the show we watched the formula 1 race. It was my first time and I found it thoroughly enjoyable despite already knowing the result.
Cherym as usual played brilliantly and the crowd adored them. We love playing in Glasgow and as expected this show was a heap of fun. Here are a few shots of the night from Will.
